  1. We have a new Horizon Zero Dawn PC patch, and it's more interesting than the last ones. Guerrilla Games rolled out patch 1.04 for the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn this morning. This week's patch follows 1.03, released exactly one week ago. Along with a number of bug fixes, the new update really does address game performance issues. It's a slight boost, per the patch notes, but it's the first attempt to address game performance issues on PC. Guerrilla says CPU performance should be improved. Depending on your CPU / GPU combination, you will see between 1 and 10% increase. The update also addressed the drop in frame rate that sometimes occurs in scene / talk camera cuts. Speaking of cutscenes, texture pop-in should no longer occur in scenes. Other welcome additions include a fix for color banding when running the game in HDR. There was also an issue creating flickering artifacts in volumetric effects, which has now been fixed. Adaptive Performance settings, which many rely on to maintain a locked frame rate, should no longer cause lighting issues. Outside of that, you will find many solutions to the causes of failures. Unfortunately the list of known issues remains intact. See the full changelog below.
